Warm rooms in a casual hot spring inn in the forest offering dining, plus indoor & open-air bathing. Set by the Hoshi River in Joshin’etsukogen National Park, this relaxed hotel occupies multiple buildings, some dating from the 19th century, and is surrounded by forest. It's a kilometer from Akasawa Ski Area and 21 km from Jomokogen train station. The warm rooms feature tatami floors, futons and traditional short-legged dining tables. Bathrooms are shared or en suite. Some rooms offer balconies, fireplaces and/or river views. Breakfast and dinner are included. There are 3 communal bathhouses with natural spring water, and indoor and open-air mixed-sex and gender-segregated bathing, plus a cozy lounge. Lunch is also available.
