Time shapes our lives – yet we experience it in profoundly different ways. The exhibition ZEIT·RÄUME reveals how time structures, constrains, and at the same time enables our everyday lives. It invites us to understand time not only as a measurable quantity, but as a social resource – and to rethink its value. The exhibition “ZEIT·RÄUME – A Reflection on Time as a Social Resource” makes the often invisible pace-setters of daily life tangible. Sensory installations, personal narratives, and societal perspectives offer insights into time poverty and time wealth, as well as into the lives of people who struggle with time every day. By connecting individual stories with structural contexts, the exhibition raises fundamental questions: What role does time play in my own life? What does time justice mean? And what new possibilities emerge when we think about and distribute time differently? Artist Karim Ben Khelifa is a Belgian-Tunisian multidisciplinary artist. Drawing on his earlier work as a war reporter, he combines photography, spatial sound, kinetic sculptures, and responsive installations. In ZEIT·RÄUME, he merges visual, acoustic, and interactive elements to make time and its malleability directly experienceable. This project is an initiative of the Center for New Social Policy. As an independent think tank, we develop ideas for a social policy that safeguards individual freedom and enables self-determined lives. We set agendas, create spaces for dialogue, and provide substantive policy advice. The exhibition is conceived as a space for reflection, encounter, and inspiration – and invites visitors to question their own relationship with time. Admission is free.
