
As a child in care, Monika Haeger was brought up to follow the socialist path. As a loyal citizen of the GDR and Stasi employee, she later spied on an important East Berlin women's group, disguised as a close friend of civil rights activist Bärbel Bohley. For the women, this had mostly devastating consequences. Arrests, interrogations and even expatriation from the GDR were the result.
