
The Ofrenda, a lavishly decorated altar of about 40 square meters, is the centerpiece of the Mexican Day of the Dead festivities. After the ceremonial opening, it is adorned with flowers, candles, handicrafts, fruit, cakes, sweets, sodas, liquor, and cigarettes – gifts for the departed.
