From the summer of 1900 onward, an Eight-Nation Alliance brutally suppressed the anti-Western Yihetuan uprising in China and looted palaces, temples, and private homes.To this day, traces of the Boxer War (1900/1901) can be found in national and individual memory as well as in our public and private collections.
