About this Event
In 1999, the BELUGA sank in the Baltic Sea, halfway between Rügen and Bornholm. The reasons for the deaths of three East German fishermen remain a mystery to this day. Michael Schmidt and Lutz Riemann, both working for NDR at the time, asked: Why not? The Baltic Sea is home to the world's best-monitored waterways. Surely everything could be resolved quickly.
