The exhibition's curator, Neville Rowley, places the recently restored "Preparation of Christ" in the context of other paintings in the special presentation "Homage to Vittore Carpaccio." The works by Giovanni Bellini, Cima da Conegliano, Carpaccio, and other painters illustrate what would later become Venice's distinctive style: tonal painting.
