Anne Frank, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1929, is one of the most famous witnesses of the Shoah. In 1933, her family fled to Amsterdam, where they went into hiding in the rear building of Otto Frank's company in 1942. It was there that Anne began her diary—a unique document about fear, everyday life, hope, and self-discovery.
