In this workshop, you will learn how to utilize FM Synthesis to design your own unique synth sounds. For demonstration purposes, we will be focusing on the use of Ableton’s stock FM synth, Operator, but the concepts you learn can easily be applied to any FM-style synth. We will cover what FM Synthesis is, and how it differs from other styles of sound synthesis, understanding key parameters of FM style synths (e.g. Carrier, Modulator, Ratio, Algorithm, Operator), and practical sound design examples. Come exchange ideas, network, meet like-minded producers, and learn new tips and tricks from our presenters and fellow participants.
